Necessity is the Mother of Invention
We started Martin’s Cart-in’s LLC in 1994 because with 3 small children, I could never get to the beach without someone’s help. We made a cart and used bike wheels to motor through the soft sand. That was a big hit in our neighborhood so we decided to make some more and rent them. Being a teacher, we found a way for me to still be with the kids and start a small business. Now the carts have large pneumatic wheels and glide through the sand making getting to the beach a breeze! All these years later and those babies are now very involved in the business.
From Babies to Managers

Tah Dah! Look at those little beach babies! The “original” wooden beach cart was large but it was missing the pneumatic wheels that enable the cart to glide through the soft sand. Once we found those wheels, the wooden carts became obsolete and our little business took off.
